Jaylen Brown actually still played during the Celtics’ first preseason game against the Orlando Magic on Monday, leading the franchise to a close 98-97 win. He scored a game-high 25 points on top of four rebounds and three assists, all while shooting 50 percent from the field.
It remains to be seen how long Brown will be out with the positive COVID-19 test, but it is worth noting that the league’s previous rules require players who got the virus to quarantine for “10 days or more” or produce two negative tests in a span of 24 hours before being allowed to return. It is unknown whether the Celtics leader is vaccinated or not.
