Warriors still interested in deal with Jeremy Lin after previous snafu

The Golden State Warriors are trying to make sure they’re strapped with talent coming into the 2020-21 season. While some deals haven’t frankly swung their way, Golden State isn’t willing to just throw in the towel on landing Jeremy Lin.
Per the New York Times’ Marc Stein, the Warriors still remain persistent on signing Lin and exploring the G League route with the 32-year-old guard if he so decides to do so:

Golden State was rumored to be signing Lin and possibly slotting him to their G League affiliate on Dec. 18.
While fans were quick to jump the gun in welcoming back Lin and his possible comeback in the league, Lin made short work of getting anyone’s hopes up given the forthcoming work of getting clearance from the CBA:

The Warriors proceeded to sign-and-waive Elijah Pemberton before the deadline, a familiar route that was to be used for Lin. How the Warriors plan to obtain Lin still remains to be seen as the season gets underway this week.
Lin ultimately began his NBA career with the Warriors after going undrafted in 2010. After rising to prominence with the New York Knicks and the “Linsanity” era, Lin’s career took a bit of a dive off the deep end as he bounced to multiple teams. His latest stint with the NBA came during the 2018-19 season with the Toronto Raptors, affording him his first and only championship.
Lin spent last season with the CBA’s Beijing Ducks, averaging 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds along with 5.6 assists. If the Warriors are unable to sign Lin, it’s likely that he’ll remain with the Ducks for the upcoming season.
