Former NBA big man and currently ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins has ripped the Minnesota Timberwolves for not retiring Kevin Garnett’s jersey before the Boston Celtics.
The Celtics announced on Thursday they are retiring Garnett’s No. 5 jersey, but Perkins believes the Timberwolves should have already retired Garnett’s No. 21 jersey.

Garnett played 14 seasons for the Timberwolves. In 970 career games with Minnesota, Garnett averaged 19.8 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.6 blocks. He won the 2004 MVP award with the team as well.
KG actually criticized Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor during the Jimmy Butler trade drama last season. The future Hall of Famer said Taylor âdoesnât know sh*tâ about basketball.
Kevin Garnett finished his career with the Timberwolves after winning a championship with the Celtics and then playing a few years with the Brooklyn Nets. Minnesota will likely retire KG’s jersey one day, but Perkins is upset that it hasn’t been done already.
