The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a four-year, $70-million extension with guard Eric Bledsoe, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
The 29-year-old was set to become a free agent this summer, but he's found a home with the Bucks after being acquired from the Phoenix Suns early in the 2017-18 season. In 131 regular-season outings with Milwaukee, Bledsoe has averaged 16.8 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
The Bucks' front office can now turn its attention to other key rotation players set to hit the open market this summer.
All-Star wing Khris Middleton is widely expected to decline his $13-million player option for 2019-20 to test free agency. Starting center Brook Lopez and trade-deadline pickup Nikola Mirotic are both scheduled to become unrestricted free agents as well. Malcolm Brogdon, the 2016-17 Rookie of the Year, is heading for restricted free agency.
Buoyed by MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks have posted a league-best 47-14 record heading into Friday's slate, and they will almost certainly finish with their best record since the 2000-01 season (50-32).
