The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran swingman Corey Brewer to a second 10-day contract.
Brewer didn’t play a single minute with the Kings during his first 10-day contract.
Brewer signed two 10-day contracts with the Philadelphia 76ers before he joined the Kings. The 32-year-old played in seven games with Philly and averaged 7.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest while shooting 40.8 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from beyond the arc and 69.2 percent from the free-throw line.
The Kings traded shooting guard Iman Shumpert to the Houston Rockets and acquired small forward Harrison Barnes from the Dallas Mavericks and combo guard Alec Burks from the Cleveland Cavaliers before the All-Star break. Sacramento is 30-27 on the season and looking to make the postseason for the first time since 2006. They are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference standings.
Brewer has career averages of 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He has played for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Sixers.
