One of the most polarizing prospects in the draft has found his NBA home. With the 7th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft the Portland Trail Blazers have drafted electric guard Shaedon Sharpe from Kentucky.
Sharpe’s path to the NBA has been a rollercoaster of emotions. After flying under the radar for most of his high school career, he became one of the most hyped prospects after his showing at Nike Elite Youth Basketball. He was the most-sought after prospect in high school, ranking first among all players.
Sharpe committed to the Kentucky Wildcats in January this year, enrolling a year early. However, in a stunning turn of events, the guard never suited up for the team, opting instead to train for the 2022 NBA draft despite not playing a single collegiate game.
