Superstar point guard Stephen Curry spoke to the media for the first time since his unfortunate injury. These setbacks never happen at good times, but this is one of the worst times for the Golden State Warriors. The NBA season is coming to a close and the Dubs need all hands on deck to finish strong.
“Two weeks is kind of the marker,” Curry told ClutchPoints. “Just to know how it’s healing. From what I’m told, just in terms of the ligaments around the injury and the bone that’s kind of underneath there, you don’t want to rush the beginning phases of healing, because that’s where you can get the most progress. So when you do put the shoe back on, get back on the court, get reps, that you’re not dealing with crazy soreness or anything, and you give yourself a better shot.”
Before losing Stephen Curry, the Warriors had found a rhythm and was on a four-game win streak. Draymond Green just returned from injury, and a championship was the one thing on everyone’s mind. Now questions about Curry’s foot have replaced those thoughts about winning an NBA title.
“This is one I guess if you push it too soon it can linger and be a real nuisance,” Curry added. “So obviously anything with your foot, your ankle, anything down there, you want to be cautious. Just because you don’t want there to be something that lingers when you get back out there on the floor.”

Meanwhile, the Warriors will have to figure things out without their MVP. After Sunday’s game with the San Antonio Spurs, the Dubs play the Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards next week.
