With the first few hours of free agency bringing forth some blockbuster moves, the New York Knicks themselves have made some lowkey roster decisions. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the ‘Bockers have agreed to sign 6-foot-6 swingman Alec Burks on a two-year deal worth $6 million.

Alec Burks is not a bad player at all, and this is actually quite a pickup for New York. It just pales in comparison to the other big-name transactions that have besieged Day 1 of free agency thus far.
Last season between the Golden State Warriors and the Philadelphia 76ers, Burks averaged 15.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists while also connecting on 1.8 triples per game on a respectable 38.5 percent clip. After signing with the Dubs as a free agent last summer, the Warriors traded away Burks to the Sixers in February, along with Glenn Robinson, in exchange for three future draft picks.
In Burks, the Knicks get a tested vet that could help spread the floor for the team. He is also a capable scorer, and he could serve as a viable option on the offense–be it as a starter or coming off the bench.
