Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to be a leading voice for social justice in the NBA. After the Lakers’ Game 4 win over the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals on Thursday night, LeBron James was asked by TNTâs Allie LaForce during the postgame interview about his thoughts on the decision to clear the police in the shooting of Breonna Taylor.
Visibly exhausted, LeBron James also couldnât help but get emotional. He also made a vow.
âI know we lost a beautiful woman in Breonna, (who) has no say-so with whatâs going on right now. We want justice no matter how long it takes,â LeBron James said.

This was a poignant personal moment.
âI got a daughter of mine at home, and a wife, my mom. So many predominantly black women in my life to think about if they werenât here the next day,â added LeBron, who wrote messages for Breonna on his shoes for tonightâs game.
LeBron James is on the cusp of his ninth NBA Finals appearance as the Lakers are just a win away from advancing. He had 26 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists tonight, while taking on the challenge of defending Nuggets hotshot Jamal Murray in the endgame.
While heâs happy and relieved that they have now taken a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, LeBron James assured they still keep Breonnaâs memory close to their chest.
âWeâre here playing this game. Itâs very challenging, itâs very difficult. But at the same time our hearts are with their (Taylor) family,â said the 16-time All-Star. âItâs a tragedy.â
Still, despite the seemingly endless frustrations, LeBron James remains hopeful.
âWeâre just hoping there are better days. Just real love and not hate. Thatâs what it all boils down to,â LeBron James said.
