Boston Celtics shooting guard Marcus Smart believes the sky is the limit for small forward Jayson Tatum.
During a conference call with Celtics reporters on Tuesday, Smart said Tatum is on his way to becoming one of the greatest players in NBA history.

Before the season was suspended in March, Tatum was averaging 23.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Celtics, who are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. The former Duke Blue Devil was also shooting 44.8 percent from the floor, 39.8 percent from beyond the arc and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line.
Tatum made his first All-Star team in 2019-20. He has established himself as one of the best scorers in the game, but Smart is confident the youngster is only scratching the surface of his potential.
Once the “bubble” games start on July 30 at Walt Disney World, the Celtics will play the Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers, Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, Orlando Magic, Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards in their eight seeding games. Boston will ultimately go as far as Jayson Tatum, Kemba Walker and Jaylen Brown can lead the franchise in the 2020 playoffs.
