With the NBA heading to Disney’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, one particularly large (in more ways than one) Disney fan, Milwaukee Bucks center Brook Lopez, is issuing a location-specific challenge to the commissioner.
“We’ll see how long Adam Silver can keep Robin and I from going to the park.” Lopez said, per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

The proposal for the league’s restart plan, approved by the players association and board of governors in early June, includes several stipulations to prioritize health and safety as the league descends on a Covid hotspot. Unfortunately for the Lopez bros., league personnel will not be allowed to visit the nearby Magic Kingdom.
“For those visiting Disney World this summer and hoping to see an active NBA player roaming the parks and getting on rides, well, the NBPA made it clear that won’t be happening for players, nor the family members joining them” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported.
Brook and his twin brother (and fellow Bucks’ seven-footer) Robin are well-known and proud fanatic of the storied entertainment conglomerate. According to ESPN, Brook spent years building a house on the Disney World property. In Dec. 2019, the Lopez twins traveled across the country together in order to be amongst the first riders of the amusement park’s new “Star Wars” attraction.
In April. when the league was still in the early stages of pondering the plan to resume the season at the Walt Disney World complex, Robin Lopez made his expertise of the facilities abundantly clear.
