Chris Paul was the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. He was selected by the New Orleans Hornets and has carved out a Hall of Fame career ever since.
However, if Paul had it his way, he would have been drafted by the Atlanta Hawks instead.
On the latest episode of Knuckleheads podcast with Darius Miles and Quentin Richardson, Paul said he never wanted to work out for the Hornets since he “killed” his Hawks workout already.
The NBA legend also told the hilarious story of Hornets head coach Bryon Scott taking him to TGI Fridays during his visit.

The Hawks selected Marvin Williams with the second overall pick in the 2005 draft. It’s safe to say the franchise should have drafted Chris Paul, who will go down as one of the best point guards in NBA history.
Paul averaged 16.1 points and 7.8 assists during his rookie season with the Hornets. He won Rookie of the Year as well.
The 2010-11 season was the last year Paul played for the Hornets. He requested a trade and was initially sent to the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the trade got vetoed by NBA commissioner David Stern and Paul ended up getting traded to the other team in LA, the Los Angeles Clippers.
