Washington Wizards point guard John Wall truly enjoys assisting people â both on and off the court.
With the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to cripple areas in the nation’s capital, the former Kentucky Wildcat extended a helping hand through a new program called “202 Assist.” The timely cause by the John Wall Family Foundation (JWFF) aims to provide rent relief for the residents of D.Câs Ward 8.

Wall bared that he intends to focus on the struggling residents of Ward 8, who have been hit hard by the pandemic the most.
âD.C. has been my second home for 10 years now, and I have always had a strong connection to the community,â the Wizards star said in a press release, via NBA.com.
âAfter learning how COVID-19 has affected the residents of Ward 8, I felt that I needed to act which is why I have partnered with the city. I hope that others will join me to help those in need during these uncertain times.â
The 6-foot-4 facilitator is quite familiar with the area, given that the team’s practice facility, MedStar Wizards Performance Center, is located in Ward 8. The Washington Mystics of the WNBA and G-League’s Capital City Go-Go play their home games on the same floor.
Wall, meanwhile, is yet to play this year and will miss the entire 2019-20 season after recuperating from an Achilles injury. Still, he managed to spearhead a campaign for the betterment of the community.
