Unfortunately for Garnett and the Lakers, Bryant never answered his phone call. With that, KG went to the Boston Celtics instead.

Garnett says the Warriors and Suns situations just werenât right for him. He said his first choice was the Lakers, saying âI wanted to link with (Kobe Bryant),â but he says Bryant didnât answer his call.
âI shouted at Kobe he didnât pick the line up,â he told podcast hosts Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. âT-Lue (Tyronn Lue) and Kobe were close and he said âshoot at him again and see what he on.â So I shouted again and he didnât get back, so I had to make a decision.â
Kevin Garnett and the Celtics defeated Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in the 2008 Finals. However, Kobe and the Purple and Gold got their revenge on KG and Boston in the 2010 Finals.
Garnett and Bryant were named as Hall of Fame finalists on Friday. It has been a great week for KG, who is getting his Celtics No. 5 jersey retired as well.
