Jarrett Allen has been a great contributor to the Brooklyn Nets ever since he was drafted by the team with the 22nd pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. A 6-foot-11 big man with a long wingspan and impressive athleticism, Allen has obviously made a name for himself as an elite shot blocker.
Despite being just 21 years old, Allen has also exhibited a penchant for high-energy play and hustle. The former Texas star was able to perfectly encapsulate all of this during the Nets’ Sunday matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.
For the first time in 25 games, Brooklyn had star point guard Kyrie Irving back in the lineup. As a result, the Nets were able to make quick work of the last-placed Hawks.
With the Nets up by 22 with just a few seconds remaining, Hawks guard Paul Watson his “welcome to the league” moment. Despite the big lead, Allen was having none of Watson’s floater and sent the shot flying as time expired.
