Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell is currently having his best-ever NBA campaign this season. And on Tuesday night, the 23-year-old All-Star set all sorts of records in a single game.
Russell scored a career-high 44 points in leading the Nets to a huge 123-121 road victory over the Sacramento Kings. He also racked up team-highs of 12 assists and four steals in leading Brooklyn’s huge comeback from a 28-point second-half deficit and 25-point hole entering the fourth quarter.
Prior to that thrilling West coast road game, Russell also needed six three-pointers to surpass Allen Crabbe for the Nets’ single-season record for three-point field goals made, and he did exactly that on his unforgettable night.

D’Angelo Russell now has a a total of 202 made three-pointers and the sole distinction of becoming Brooklyn’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made in a season that Crabbe once held in 2017.
The former Buckeye standout is doing it all for the Nets this season, with career-best averages of 20.4 points and 6.8 assists per contest thus far. He has been very instrumental to say the least in the resurgence of a Brooklyn now looking for their first playoff appearance since 2015.
There’s still a tough road ahead for Brooklyn, who’ll be taking on all five of the Eastern Conference’s powerhouses before the end of the regular season. The team still has upcoming dates against Toronto, Milwaukee (twice), Boston, Philadelphia and Indiana on tap.
Despite the gauntlet of doom facing the Nets, Russell will make certain that he’ll muster up more stellar performances like the one he had on Tuesday in hopes of sending his team back into postseason relevance.
