Houston Rockets star James Harden saw his streak of 30-point games snapped on Monday night in the team’s 119-111 win against the Atlanta Hawks.
Harden, the NBA’s reigning MVP finished with 28 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
However, it seems that the All-Star guard isn’t bothered about his streak coming to an end.
Harden returned to the Rockets’ lineup after missing the team’s last two games due to a neck strain and flu-like symptoms. He struggled the entire game, shooting a dismal 7-of-21 from the field, including 0-of-10 from behind the arc.
The Rockets’ supporting cast was ready to step-up for Harden. Chris Paul had an all-around game with 20 points, eight assists, and six boards, while the frontcourt tandem of Clint Capela and Kenneth Faried combined for 25 points and 18 rebounds. Eric Gordon scored 16 points off the bench.
The Rockets improved to 35-25, good for the fifth-best record in the West, and with 22 games left, they will try to rack up as many wins as possible in order to get a better seeding come playoff time. They are only trailing the fourth-seeded Portland Trail Blazers by two games.
