The Indiana Pacers are signing forward Stephan Hicks to a 10-day contract.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the Pacers are signing Stephan Hicks from G League affiliate Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
The 6-foot-6 wing has been producing well this season. Undrafted out of Cal-State Northridge in 2015, he has shown tremendous strides in just a few years of his professional career. In 26 games for the Mad Ants, he averaged 16.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. He also shot 48.7 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from the 3-point line.
Indiana is adding Hicks with their last open spot on the roster. He possesses enough size and versatility to guard multiple offensive positions, and coach Nate McMillan will relish another body who can work in the backcourt.
After a crushing loss to the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this week, the Pacers received their 30th win of the season, bouncing back against the Dallas Mavericks Saturday 111-99. Even with a solid defensive showing from particular members such as Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner, the Hoosier State team felt it was time to add one more ingredient to the roster.
