Jared Dudley forced to exit with left hamstring injury

The Nets’ injury list continued to grow Wednesday night.
Veteran forward Jared Dudley left the 116-100 win over the Hawks midway through the third quarter with a left hamstring injury and did not return.
Shortly after racing back to block a fast-break layup attempt, Dudley appeared to get injured while driving to the rim. He went straight to the locker room while grabbing at his hamstring.
Coach Kenny Atkinson had no update after the game, but Dudley said in a postgame tweet he would undergo an MRI exam Thursday. He was in the starting lineup in place of injured Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (adductor strain).
“Obviously Jared is probably our most vocal guy in terms of a veteran leader,” Joe Harris said. “He really is the voice, the coach on the floor. Although you don’t see it in the stat sheet every night, he’s capable of having big games, but he does a lot more for us. Hopefully he can get back soon because he is a very integral part of this team.
The Nets are also playing without guards Allen Crabbe (knee) and Caris LeVert (dislocated ankle), though they did get DeMarre Carroll (knee) and Harris (ankle) back from one-game absences.
If this was Vince Carter’s last road game against his former franchise, the Nets gave him quite a send-off.
During a timeout late in the first quarter, the Nets played a tribute video thanking Carter for his five seasons with the team from 2004-09. The 41-year-old received an ovation and tapped his heart while saluting the crowd back.
“The appreciation, I’m very thankful for and I’ll never forget,” said Carter, who before the season said he was “90-something percent” sure it would be his last. “The video — yes, it could be premature or not — they’re thinking about me and I’m very thankful.”
Carter’s 8,834 points rank third in Nets history, behind Brook Lopez and Buck Williams. He was a three-time Nets All-Star and helped them reach the playoffs from 2004-2007.
“His longevity is legendary to me,” Atkinson said. “As [he was] a former Net, too, I watched a lot of his games. Big fan.”
The Nets’ bench outscored the Hawks’ 55-31. It has now scored 50-plus points in a franchise-record-tying six straight games. … Ed Davis’ 16 rebounds were the most in a game for a Net off the bench since Jamie Feick had 16 in 2000.
